	Haiti

The new ALOM Clinic fundraising effort is well underway with about $77,500 collected by three organizations since November. There are also reliable pledges of an additional $170,000 from people who believe this new Clinic is a very worthwhile addition to this area in Haiti. This $247,500 brings Dr. Vlad to just over 50% of the way to the $470,000 goal. Dr. Vlad needs help in reaching out to people that can contribute to ALOM’s efforts. Please feel free to forward this email to those that may be interested in helping.

As a reminder, the land is in a great location and already has a wall built around it covering 4+acres. It is located on Highway #1, the major North-South road in Haiti, between Titanyen and Cabaret. It also is less than 5 miles from the new seaport that is being developed to take the pressure off of Port-au-Prince as the main shipping point. It will provide hundreds of jobs for this area. We also understand a neonatal care hospital is planned as part of this development as well as homes and a golf course.

Dr. Vlad has two Engineers that he selected for this project and provided the original estimate for building the Clinic. They will also manage the construction of the Clinic when Dr. Vlad is ready to build. Based on partner feedback, we feel very good about the Engineers that Dr. Vlad selected for this project. They are knowledgeable about construction and came up with good approaches to issues that were raised.
