Disaster Relief Training
 




Advanced: for those with a CURRENT (Not-expired) NCBM Disaster Relief training photo id.  If your badge is not current, please Recertify on Friday night, then take Advance course on Saturday.  You will find Recertification on the previous page.  Some of the classes are Friday night, some Saturday, some are both.  Some require pre-requisites. Please read registration information carefully.

Schedule: See individual events to determine day (Friday or Saturday or both). 
Times are:     Friday - Registration 4:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Class starts at 5:45, ends at 10 p.m.
                        Saturday - Registration 7:30 a.m.-8:30 a.m.  Class starts at 8:30, ends at 2 p.m.

Accommodations: Housing provided in church/facility, dormitory stye, male/female seperated.  Bring your cot/air mattress and anything you need for sleeping. We do NOT provide sleep gear.

Meals:     Friday night Advanced participants receive a supper meal.
                Saturday Advanced participants receive a lunch meal. 
                If you intend to stay overnight Friday night, a Saturday meal is available for $5.   (Please inform 
                    us using the registration form.)

Age: must be 18+.  Recovery participants 15+ with Parent

Classes offered: Read schedule and pre-requisites carefully

    Administration: assists with paperwork, volunteer check-in, equipment inventory, and various 
        clerical responsibilities
    Assessment: makes initial contact with resident to determine damage and complete forms for recovery 
        teams to use as guidance.
    Chaplaincy Advanced: additional training for DR Chaplaincy volunteers. 
        "Listening and Sharing Skills in a Critical Incident Environment", and 
        "Ministering to Ethnic/Cultural Groups in Disaster Relief."
    Evangelism: learn additional ways to share the gospel in a disaster environment
    Points of Distribution: learn how to setup and participate in distribution of goods at a POD.  a POD
         is where local government will distrbute, ice, water, tarp, etc. to residents that drive through the POD
         line.

Cost: $20 per Advanced Includes course materials, updated badge, 1 meal, and a hat.  Additional meals are $5. Please note such on registration form. NO REFUNDS

To Register: Complete registration form for each participant.  Only ONE Recert class per day.   Participants will be pre-registered on a first-come, first-served basis. Training class size is limited.  Registered Volunteers will be contacted approximately 1 week before the event with exact location information.
