Disaster Relief for Hurricane Ike




The Disaster Recovery operation in Texas will close on November 22.  A big thanks to all of the teams that have supported this operation over 1,000 miles away for the past 50 days.  Good work NC Baptists!  You served and sacrificed even though the media had moved on to other news items.  We appreciate your dedication.

NCBM Disaster Relief had a unique opportunity to combine all 3 mobile kitchens at one site in Baytown, Texas.  (Note picture above).  The mass feeding operation closed October 15 with Region 6 being the last team for this portion of the response effort.  

The majority of the work for Recovery teams in Baytown was tree debris removal.  In Vidor, tear-out work was the biggest need.    

Admin., Assessment, Chaplaincy, and Shower/Laundry teams were a great support in Texas.

Please pray for the victims of Hurricane Ike that they will be accept God's love for them.  Pray for leadership in affected states as they assist citizens with recovery.
