2009 Disaster Response

Just a few days after the Mother's Day flooding in WV, NCBM Disaster Relief Recovery volunteers responded to assist the people of Gilbert, WV.  Many said this flooding event was unique because the creeks flooded more so that the river. 

Over 300 volunteer days (one volunteer serving one day) were spent in Gilbert on the completion of 55+ mudout/tearout jobs.  The local church prepared meals for the volunteers and provided sleeping arrangements.
