NCBM Disaster Relief volunteers have been working in New Jersey since the day SuperStorm Sandy struck New Jersey and other parts of northern US in late October. We need college students to assist homeowners with recovery from this devastating event.
The type of work we will be doing is mainly “Tear-out”. Students will be engaged in labor intensive tasks such as removal of furniture, floors, wall coverings, doors, etc. In addition, we encourage students to share their faith with other volunteers and homeowners.
December 15-21 is a special week for students to be involved in the New Jersey relief effort.
Transportation is on your own. When you arrive, we will provide training, housing, meals, and coordination of your relief effort. Once on site, there is no charge for your participation. You will need to bring your bedding, i.e. cot, air mattress, sleeping bag.
While we can provide tools for your involvement, we ask that you bring your own if at all possible. A “What to bring” list will be sent to those that commit to participate.
Saturday, December 15 - travel to NJ on your own or in coordination with student group
Sunday, December 16 - attend church in the a.m./ attend training in the p.m.
