NC Baptist Disaster Relief early March tornadoes

Update, March 12 - The Recovery operation will close by Tuesday, March 13.  However, NCBM Feeding Unit 5 is still operational until next week. In addition, a NCBM Laundry Unit is still serving in West Liberty, KY.  Thanks to all of the Assessment, Admin, Chaplaincy, and Recovery volunteers that helped out in East Kentucky. Thanks so much!!

March 10, 2012 - Approximately 50 volunteer days have been spent in Inez, Kentucky helping tornado survivors cleanup from the devestating March 3 tornado.  Several projects have been completed in the area.  In addition, NCBM Kitchen 5 has been setup at FBC Salyersville to help local churches with feeding efforts.  Assessment teams are in the community seeking ways to help those affected.  Volunteers that register to assist will be informed about the status of projects and need for help.

A laundry unit and team will be working in West Liberty to assist those affected by the tornado outbreak. 

Central and Western NC tornado report:
320 volunteer days were used to complete 54 projects during the Central and Western NC Tornado response.  Currently we are engaged in response in Inez, KY and plan to open another operation in Salyersville, KY to include feeding and recovery.  The majority of the work is chainsaw and tarping.
