Church Exterior Renovations and Repairs
Pownal, VT
One team of 12-15 volunteers is needed to complete various repairs and upgrades on interior of 100 year old church. Project includes (1) installation of short section of guttering with downspout over handicap ramp; (2)stain small entrance roof and supports over rear door; (3)stucco sides, re-concrete top, install porch lights, and install new handrails on front entrance; (4)install handrail, insulation, window, and concrete pad for side entrance building. (5) and coat the rear of the church building to stop water intrusion into the block and mortar. Teams will be asked to help with the material costs up to $500. Church will supply scaffolding, ladders, brushes, etc. Team will need to supply their personal tools. Volunteers with handyman skills, painting/staining, working from scaffolding and electrical would be helpful. Team will need to provide own transportation. Team can stay in local motels or at Grace Christian School in Bennington (10 miles, at $10/night) Contact requestor for assistance and information. Team will need to provide own food, but meals may be prepared at the church or Grace Christian School.
Length of assignment: One week
Preferred Dates: May – Oct 2012
Costs: Travel to VT, lodging, food and materials up to $500
Volunteer Insurance: Each individual is requested to purchase volunteer missionary insurance which covers them in case of an accident while on the mission field.
