Vacation Bible School/Servant Evangelism
Hershey, PA
One team of 6-8 volunteers is needed to assist a small, fairly new church in Hershey, PA with an evening VBS to children, middle schoolers or both. The time may also consist of some sports activities such as basketball or dodge ball for the kids to participate in. Host church will also plan a few servant evangelism projects in the community during the day. (Not every day but perhaps a few). These might include light construction, yard work, cleaning, etc. The Hershey area has been hit hard by weather and floods over the past year and some families might still be hurting. The object is to bless the homes and share the gospel. Team will need to provide a small amount of funds for possible “love-gifts” for the those who are hurting. Team can work out those details with requestor. Team will need to provide own transportation. Team could arrange to lodge and prepare food at Baptist Volunteer house in Harrisburg. Team will need to provide own food.
Length of assignment: 5 days
Preferred Dates: Open and flexible
Costs: Travel to Pennsylvania, food, lodging, outreach materials
Volunteer Insurance: Each Individual is requested to purchase voluntary missionary insurance which covers them in case of an accident while on the mission field. The cost of this insurance is $5 per person and covers up to 10 days. If you have any questions about this insurance please see your team leader or contact NC Baptist Men at 1-800-395-5102 x 5596.
