Shoe Boxes
Central Appalachia
Volunteers are needed to collect and fill shoeboxes with hygiene items, socks, gloves, and age appropriate toys for children to be distributed at Christmas time. There are many ministry centers throughout central Appalachia where the shoeboxes are needed. The location for distribution will be determined by partnership coordinators according to need. Team may simply deliver items - or deliver and assist with distribution. If housing is needed requestor will give you needed information. Team will need to provide own food in most cases.
Length of assignment: One Week
Preferred Dates: Dec 1 – Dec 15, 2012
Costs: Travel to Kentucky, food, lodging, all supplies
Volunteer Insurance: Each individual is requested to purchase volunteer missionary insurance which covers them in case of an accident while on the mission field. The cost of this insurance is $5 per person and covers up to 10 days. If you have questions about this insurance please see your team leader or call NC Baptist Men at 1-800-395-5102 x 5596.
