Work & Worship Weekend
@ Red Springs Mission Camp 2012

On October 5-6, 2012, forty-one men from churches across the state gathered for the third annual Men's Work & Worship Weekend. This year's event was held at Red Springs Missions Camp near Lumberton. The weekend started with supper on Friday night, followed by a worship rally. The rally featured worshipful singing, a session from Lifeway's 33: The Series , a time of sharing, group prayer, and great fellowship. On Saturday, the groups went to work. Several groups spread throughout the surrounding counties to complete work and witness to homeowners. Larry Osborne, mission camp director, acted as host and projects coordinator for the weekend.

Red Springs is one of two mission camps that NC Baptist Men operate, the other being in Shelby, NC. The purpose of the weekend, sponsored by the NCBM Men's Ministry committee, is to provide an avenue for churches to involve their men in hands-on missions, while also highlighting the need to engage them in spiritual development. A well-rounded men's ministry is one in which men are consistently and intentionally challenged to grow in their faith, provided meaningful fellowship, and given the opportunity to engage in missions.
